Chakum Chukum

Nested in the neighborhood of Indira Nagar, is a small café selling rolls and rolls conceived by a Bengali couple Sujoy and Arpita

(From an interview in dnaindia) The name Chakum Chukum, was Arpita’s idea. “I woke up one day and told Sujoy that I wanted to name it Chakum Chukum. For me it’s an expression of hunger that makes you want bite after bite of anything that is tasty, crunchy and chatpata spicy!” says Arpita. The crunchy rolls they serve live up to the name.

On a weekend, we decided to head there and check this small café. I ordered mixed veg roll while my buddy ordered chicken egg roll. They also give an option to have a wheat roll or Maida roll. And the best is these rolls are not oily at oil, no speck of oil after eating.

The roll was awesome. In mixed veg, he had put lot of veggies and not only onion and capsicum which are normally done at other cafes or rolls places. Right mix of sauces, made it really superlicious.

It seems there paneer rolls are also hot selling as they use fresh paneer and which makes it palatable.

The chicken egg roll had shreds of chicken topped with egg and sauce, so that once can savor the chicken with the right blend of sauces.

Along with that we ordered fresh lime soda and cola, though he has a choice of lassi too.

The place is a nice fusion of desi rolls with a bit of firang set up. There is a limited seating, and may not be a good option in rough weather.

We shelled out two hundred and forty rupees for this experience.
