Hard Rock Café

Last weekend, we decided to have Sunday lunch at Hard Rock Cafe located on the St Marks Road after a quick stopover at Decathlon, paradise for sport freaks. Its a great American restaurant offering rock and roll atmosphere. It is located in the heritage building, which earlier had Barista.

We reached there around noon, a little early for lunch. Thankfully they have valet parking, so it wasn’t much of a problem to park our beloved. There we handed the Figo keys, and moved inside.

As soon we entered, on the right is the bar area and on the left is the restaurant/ family area. Though we wanted to sit at the bar, enjoy chilled beer, but since the place was full ( summer afternoon and the chilled bear must have bought beer guzzlers together)

Never mind, we made ourselves comfortable in the restaurant area, occupying the four chairs, though we were only two.

We were given the menu cards, and we decided to start with the Greek salad and Chicken wings. As such we were hungry as we had skipped the morning breakfast for the sumptuous lunch ahead. To go with it, I ordered Mojito while my buddy ordered the San Miguel (not kingfisher this time).

Mojito was just perfect. I must say that there are very few places which really know how to make this great Cuban drink, and Hard rock cafe is definitely one of them.

The Greek salad was good with generous black olives and iceberg lettuce and some tiny bits of feta cheese. My buddy enjoyed the chicken wings with the chilled beer.

We were kind of full and could have easily skipped the main course and should have ordered the desert tres leches, but we foodies, had to try the Jumbo Combo. The server was very sweet. He tried to convince us not to order as we won’t be able to finish, since we have already had a fair amount of appetizer. But no, we wanted to try, and he promised that he will pack if we are not able to finish it.

There we get the Jumbo Combo-non veg. The platter was true to its name. It had 3-5 pieces each of chicken wings, tender chicken strips, jacket potatoes, onion rings, crispy spring rolls with four different dips (yogurt, blue cheese, barbecue and probably salsa).

The dish was awesome. We could not resist eating and managed to nimble on the last piece too. Well, what happened afterwards is surely not to be disclosed.

Wish we had ordered only the jumbo combo and not the appetizers. Thankfully we decided to skip the second round of drinks else we wouldn’t have been able to drive back home.

The place offers great choice of food both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, coupled with beautiful ambience displaying prized possessions of the celebrities. The Sunday extravaganza was a little over two thousand rupees.
