The Glass House

There couldn't have been a better place to celebrate a nice evening than TheGlassHouse Deli Bistro Bar. Located little off Vittal Malaya Road, stone's throwaway from UB city is a beautiful place, area with loads of star studded or class restaurants. The GlassHouse is nothing short of being called as one. The ambience is classy, with all the walls being of glass, as goes well with its name. They offer seating at various sections, be it near the bakery or the high chair seating next to the bar, or the cozy seating outside or inside. They also have huge place, mustard orange hued printed glass roof, perfect to host parties.

We arrived a little before our reservation (It is recommended to make reservation before hand, as the place runs full especially on the weekends). We chose to sit outside, the table was adorned with the small candle, and the place was dimly lit. Though we had some problem in looking at the menu, but we were so awed by the whole setting, that it didn't bother. To escape from the night owl checks on the drunken driving, we let go the cocktails or alike, and chose Iced tea instead. As an appetizer, we ordered stuffed bake mushroom. The stuff was really good. Well saute mushrooms melted in the mouth, and didn't realized how soon we had polished off 11 mushrooms. Alongwith that they gave 3 small portions of bread to be taken with the olive oil and a crumble of nuts. Just awesome!

Their menu has a wide variety of European Mediterranean cuisine even their liquor menu is extensive. We opted for The Farm House Pizza and a Whole Wheat Spaghetti with Sundried Tomatoes. The Pizza was 12 inch diameter, which was a good enough portion to satiate. Super thin crust, with topping of pine nuts along with the veggies.

However the Pasta was a little below what we would have loved to have, but nevertheless we enjoyed its flavor. Probably we didn't ask the garcon, not to deliver them together. The guys were very sweet, they agreed to hold the pasta for us, till we enjoy the pizza, and then brought it back from the kitchen.

We were really full, but couldn't leave the place without trying their interesting deserts, though their bakery also had quite a line of tarts or chocolates or fudge. We chose Pink Praline Slice over our all time favorite Crème brûlée. This was a very unique desert, served with a scoop of sea salt ice cream. The servers were very attentive and were always there.

This place is surely a luxury dining experience. They offer a valet car parking service too which surely is a blessing in the non availability of parking spaces in the city.
